TWINSS supports adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families throughout Maryland’s Eastern and Central Regions.
Every person brings their own communication, relationships, interests, routines, strengths, support needs, and ideas about what makes life meaningful.
No two people need exactly the same support. That is the point.
We work collaboratively with families, Coordinators of Community Services, Support Brokers, and other chosen team members—while keeping the person’s voice, preferences, and direction at the center.

TWINSS builds small, consistent support teams around the person—not rotating staff around an open shift.
Relationships matter
Good support depends on trust. We take the time to learn how a person communicates, what makes them comfortable, what motivates them, and what they want from their life.
Communication is access
A person cannot meaningfully direct their support if no one takes the time to understand them. We recognize spoken and unspoken communication and adapt how we listen.
DSPs deserve investment
Direct Support Professionals do complex, important work. We invest in training, competency, professional development, and a workplace culture that values the people providing support.
Community means belonging
Being physically present in the community is not the same as being included in it. We support people to build relationships, explore interests, contribute, and become known.
Consistency is not a luxury
Reliable support protects health, safety, trust, and progress. We intentionally develop small teams that know the person and understand their responsibilities.
